WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Just a stone's throw from the White House,
Vice-President Gore was looking for New Hampshire primary votes Friday.
The leading democratic presidential contender visited the
Smithsonan Folklife Festival on the Mall in Washington, taking advantage of the sunny afternoon.
While he bypassed the displays on Romania and South Africa, he
strolled through and shook hands at the New Hampshire exhibit.
The vice president and his wife, Tipper, walked across a covered
bridge built for the festival and listened to folk music while sipping a
strawberry fruit smoothy.
Gore had no comment when asked about reports Sen. Bob Kerrey,
D-Neb., will endorse Gore's rival for the nomination, former New Jersey Sen. Bill Bradley
Wearing black cowboy boots, the vice president also visited an
animal display and -- whip in hand -- drove a pair of oxen about 20 yards.
