Thompson wins record 4th term in Wisconsin

(AllPolitics, November 3) -- Bolstered by a strong economy, Wisconsin GOP Gov. Tommy Thompson won a landslide over Democrat Ed Garvey for a record fourth term.
Forty-two percent of the voters said their family's financial situation improved under Thompson's leadership, and a majority of those voters said they cast their ballots for the incumbent.
The governor had said before Tuesday's vote that if he won, this would be his last term and that he planned to serve the full four years.
