Chelsea's Got A Boyfriend

STANFORD (AllPolitics, May 4) -- Chelsea Clinton has a boyfriend, according to sources at Stanford University familiar with the situation.

White House officials refused to confirm it, but 20-year old Matthew Pierce, a religious studies major, attended church and ate lunch with the first family on Sunday.

Pierce, from The Woodlands, Texas, is a junior and a member of the Stanford swim team. In March, he won the 200-meter butterfly to help the university capture this year's NCAA men's swimming championship. He also competed in the backstroke and participated in the 1996 U.S. Olympic trials.

When approached by reporters, Pierce confirmed he and the first daughter are indeed dating, but would offer no other details. In an interview with the San Jose Mercury News, he identified himself as Chelsea Clinton's boyfriend.
