Starr Grand Jury In Arkansas To Hear From Former State Trooper

WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, March 2) -- At the same time the federal grand jury in Washington questions President Bill Clinton's friend Vernon Jordan, Independent Counsel Ken Starr's grand jury in Little Rock will be taking testimony from two local private investigators, Tommy Goodwin and Bill Mullenax, sources tell CNN.

Starr is in Little Rock for the session while his subordinates are handling Jordan's scheduled testimony in Washington.

Mullenax, a former Arkansas State Trooper and one time head of then-governor Clinton's security, and Goodwin, former Director of the State Police, have connections with Investigative Services of Arkansas.

The subpoenas, according to Mullenax and Goodwin, cover any records pertaining to Clinton, personal attorney Mickey Kantor, Monica Lewinsky and White House aide Sidney Blumenthal. The subpoenas also cover any information Mullenax and Goodwin have gathered about Starr's staff.

Investigative Services worked for the National Enquirer in late 1996, conducting surveillance on a local woman to determine if she had any relationship with Starr.

Their appearance is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET Monday.
