Another Odd Episode From Lewinsky's Love Life

PORTLAND, Ore. (AllPolitics, Jan. 30) -- Monica Lewinsky apparently wrote a letter pretending to be an employee at Lewis & Clark College and offered her former lover a job, an attorney for the employee whose signature she forged said Friday.

Attorney Charles Hinkle says the letter has been turned over to the independent counsel's office investigating the ex-White House intern's relationship with President Bill Clinton.

The letter, written in Lewinsky's senior year at Lewis & Clark, was on college letterhead and addressed to Andy Bleiler, a man who claims to have had a five-year affair with Lewinsky.

The letter falsely left the impression that the college would offer a job to Bleiler, Hinkle said. The letter had the forged signature of a college employee.

But the letter was never delivered to Bleiler and the postal service returned it to the college. Hinkle says the employee whose name she used wrote a letter to Lewinsky demanding an explanation.

Lewinsky then wrote a note to the employee admitting her forgery and apologizing.

These materials were turned over last week to the office of Whitewater Independent Counsel Ken Starr.
