Similarity To Clinton Intern Brings Unwelcome Fame

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - The White House sex scandal has had an unwelcome impact on one Philadelphia woman -- people keep mistaking her for President Bill Clinton's alleged ex-lover, Monica Lewinsky.

"Having lunch in a crowded restaurant or walking through the lobby of a crowded building, I thought my fly was down," said Nancy Alperin, who bears a striking resemblance to the former White House intern.

Alperin told Reuters that her looks had been compared with Lewinsky's by everyone from a delivery man to business associates and passers-by.

By Friday morning, Alperin's picture was in the Philadelphia Inquirer and television camera crews were knocking on the door of her real estate company's office.

Clinton has denied having an "improper" liaison with Lewinsky or having asked her to lie about their relationship. A special investigator is probing the allegations, apparently based on secretly recorded conversations between Lewinsky and an associate.
