Hillary Clinton And Oprah To Gab About Turning Fifty
WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, Oct. 24) -- As First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton prepares to turn 50 years old on Oct. 26, she has agreed to chat about the milestone with Oprah Winfrey on TV's "Oprah" next week. The first lady will be in her home town of Chicago for a weekend of birthday celebrations, where the "Oprah" show is also filmed. She will sit down with Winfrey for Tuesday morning's broadcast.
"She loves Oprah, and she's going to be in Chicago for her birthday anyway. What better way to continue to celebrate," said Marsha Berry, Mrs. Clinton's spokeswoman. The president's staff appeared less apprised of the scheduled television appearance. When asked if President Bill Clinton would join his wife on the broadcast, White House Press Secretary Mike McCurry said, "I hope not! Maybe she is. The president's not, and it's better [for her] to do a solo performance." In Other News:Friday Oct. 24, 1997
