Subject: DNC Pitches In In N.J.

The Democratic National Committee is mounting a big drive in the New Jersey governor's race, with the election less than three weeks away. Encouraged by recent polls, the DNC is trying to raise $1 million for a late TV advertising push for Democrat Jim McGreevey.

House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt was in the state campaigning with McGreevey today.

The latest polls show GOP incumbent Christie Whitman leading McGreevey by 3 or 4 percentage points.
