McDougal: Hillary May Join Me In Jail
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AllPolitics, June 11) -- Jim McDougal, a former business partner of Bill and Hillary Clinton, predicted there is an "excellent chance" that the first lady could end up in prison as a result of the Whitewater scandal. (96K wav sound) McDougal begins a three-year prison term Monday at a federal facility in Kentucky. He told Little Rock, Ark., television station KATV that he may have some company there. "The institution I'm going to ... is co-educational, and I think there's an excellent chance that I might see Hillary there," he said in an interview Tuesday. Last year, McDougal was convicted on bank-fraud and conspiracy counts. He faced up to 84 years in prison but was granted a reduced sentence after cooperating with independent counsel Kenneth Starr's investigation into the business dealings of the president and Mrs. Clinton. |
