Subject: Clinton heading to Miami-area fund-raisers
President Bill Clinton is on the road today helping to raise money for the Democratic Party. After a stop in Raleigh, N.C., to talk about education, Clinton goes to the Miami area for some fund-raisers.
The president will attend a $5,000-a-person fund-raiser that will benefit Florida Sen. Bob Graham and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Deputy White House Press Secretary Mary Ellen Glynn said the event should raise $1 million. She indicated only a small portion of it would be in "soft money" for party building activities.
Clinton then attends one of the so-called Saxophone Club events for young Democrats. For that event, people pay $250 dollars a head. It's expected to raise $100,00 for the Democratic National Committee.
