Albright Gets WiredWASHINGTON (AllPolitics, Feb. 13) -- Less than a month into her job, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is already hopping aboard the Internet. She requested that a personal e-mail address be set up for her so that anyone can send in policy-related question. Her office is guaranteeing a response, though it may not come directly from Albright's keyboard. State Department Spokesman Nicholas Burns said Thursday, "I cannot guarantee you she's going to personally sit at home every night and answer every e-mail message ... But I can guarantee people who do send messages to her that they will get a response from the State Department." Albright will be given a weekly compilation of all the messages and respond herself in some instances. Albright's e-mail address is secretary@state.gov. |
