Wis. 03: Kind Picks Up Open seat for Democrats

(AllPolitics, Nov. 5) -- Democrat Ron Kind successfully sold himself as an independent and Republican James Harsdorf as right-wing to win Wisconsin's open 3rd District seat.

Kind, a La Crosse County prosecutor who was a local high school sports star and went to Harvard on scholarship, maintained he would better carry the mantle of retired Republican Rep. Steve Gunderson, a 16-year veteran.

Harsdorf, a dairy farmer, former state legislator and college teacher, emphasized his experience in government, business and education.
