Open Seats Staying Put

Only two of the 12 open seats decided so far has switched parties.

Republican John Thune has beaten Democrat Rick Weiland in the seat Democratic Rep. Tim Johnson left open when he went after Larry Pressler's Senate seat. But the others are staying put.

And Democrat Steve Rothman has defeated Bergen County Cleark Kathleen Donovan to win the seat left by Robert Toricelli who ran for the Senate.

  • Jerry Moran (Kansas 1)
  • Roy Blunt (Missouri 7)
  • Ed Thune (S.D. at large)
  • Bill Jenkins (Tenn. 1)
