Co-Host of Evans & Novak
Nationally Syndicated Columnist Rowland Evans co-hosts, with Robert Novak, CNN's half-hour discussion program, Evans & Novak. Each weekend, the pair plays host to one of the nation's top newsmakers as they conduct one of the most in-depth and revealing interviews on television today. Evans & Novak airs Saturdays from 5:30 - 6 p.m. and replays on Sundays from 10 - 10:30 a.m. (ET).
In May 1963, Evans teamed with Novak, then congressional correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, to write "Inside Report," a political column published four times a week. The Chicago Sun-Times has been the home paper to the column since 1966. It is currently syndicated to over 150 newspapers around the country by Creators Syndicate. On May 15, 1993, Evans retired from the column and now writes only occassionally. It is currently syndicated three times a week.
As columnists, Evans and Novak have crossed the country numerous times to test grassroots sentiment for local campaigns and national conventions. The team also authors two bi-monthly newsletters, "The Evans & Novak Political Report" and "The Evans & Novak Tax Report."
Before teaming with Novak, Evans covered the U.S. Congress and national politics for The New York Herald-Tribune. He also traveled extensively in Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and Asia for the Tribune and national magazines. His background includes work with the Associated Press, for whom he covered Washington, DC, and the U.S. Senate.
