Mona Charen is a nationally syndicated columnist, television and radio commentator. A lawyer by training, Charen served for more than two years in the Reagan administration. She served first as a White House aide in the Office of Public Affairs and then was appointed associate director of the Office of Public Liaison. During the 1984 presidential campaign, she was Nancy Reagan's speech writer.
