"Life Itself"
CNN  —

The creator of “This is Us” is ready to make you cry some more – but in a theater this time.

Dan Fogelman, who created the tear duct-activating drama, has written and directed a film called “Life Itself,” the trailer for which debuted Tuesday.

It revolves around a young New York couple, played by Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde, and tells their story – from college romance to marriage and the birth of their first child.

Much like the TV show for which Fogelman is known, the movie is said to involve “unexpected twists.”

Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Olivia Cooke, and Mandy Patinkin also star.

“Very few scripts make you laugh hard, ugly-sob, and then scream ‘wait, WHAT?!?!! Can they DO that?!’” Wilde tweeted on Tuesday. “I loved making this movie.”

“Life Itself” will be released in September.
