Black Friday brings major savings on the Google Home

Looking for a device designed to act as your personal assistant? Look no further than the Google Home. Now, this multipurpose gadget is on sale during the Target Black Friday sale.

How it works

When you first install the Google Home, it'll prompt you to say aloud a few basic commands, such as "Hey Google" and "OK Google," for voice recognition purposes. After it knows your voice, you can begin giving it instructions and asking it questions. For instance, you can say "Hey Google, tell me about my day." It'll answer with the time, temperature and forecast for your location. Beyond that, you can request it to read off major headlines for a debriefing of that day's news and you can ask it to play your favorite artist on Spotify.

These are just a few of the Google Home's capabilities, but we think you get the idea. This device's purpose is to serve you up information and assist with daily activities.

How to shop it during Black Friday

Here's your chance to save $50 on the Google Home ($79, originally $129; target.com). To receive your discount, visit Target online on Thanksgiving Day, November 23. Once there, you can order your new smart device in minutes. This year, Target is offering free shipping on all Black Friday orders — no matter how much or how little you spend.

We think this device lives up to the hype and will take care of a lot of routine activities in your day-to-day life. After purchasing, all you need to get started is a Wi-Fi source and another device where you can download the Google Home app. Easy as can be.
