A peek into Chef Ana Roš' kitchen

Awarded World's Best Female Chef 2017, Ana Ros has single-handedly put Slovenian food on the map. Helming the kitchen at family-owned Hisa Franko in the Soca Valley, in northwestern Slovenia, the self-taught chef has been praised for her "zero kilometer" approach. To support the local community and celebrate often overlooked ingredients, Ros sources her entire menu -- from cheese to herbs, lamb to trout -- from within walking distance of the restaurant.
