Night Tube begins in London – The Night Tube is a blessing for both London's nocturnal eaters and these late-night restaurants. The 24-hour Old Compton Street dining legend Balans Cafe has already seen an uptick in the amount of people arriving after midnight.
Balans Soho Society Cafe – "No one wants to stick to a timetable when you're out for the night. We have a sign when you come into one of our restaurants: 'Abandon all plans,'" says Balans Soho Society Cafe waitress CiCi Coleman. "You just can't do that if you're having to watch the time, can you?"
Balans Soho Society – It has slightly shorter opening hours (7:30 a.m. - 6 a.m.) than its 24-hour sister cafe, but Balans Soho Society still serves the group's classic dishes such as the Infamous Balans Burger.
Beigel Bake – Considered one of the finest cheap-eats joints in London, the 24-hour Beigel Bake has been feeding its famous salt beef bagels to after-hour revelers in Shoreditch for more than four decades.
Duck & Waffle – Sitting on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, the UK's highest 24-hour restaurant might also be the city's poshest for around-the-clock dining.
Duck & Waffle – A late-night meal at Duck & Waffle is a less impromptu affair -- reservation is recommended, but patrons are rewarded with stunning city views some 230 meters above the Thames.
MEATliquor W1 – MEATliquor helped place craft burgers on London's dining trend map in 2011. Hopefully, the night tube will ease some of the legendary queues for tables in the evening hours.
MEATliquor W1 – With occult-inspired and "bloody" interiors, MEATliquor serves US-style heavy, meaty meals with loud, heavy metal music.
Hubbard & Bell – Modeled after a Brooklyn grill, Hubbard & Bell has a trendy, '70s shtick with its whitewashed brick walls and burnt yellow and muted blue booths and chairs. Its a hotspot for people-watching and cool-hunters.
Hubbard & Bell – The open kitchen cafe, bar and grill prepares seafood, meats, salads and other dishes in their all-day menu in addition to brunch and breakfast selections.
Pizza East Shoreditch – The upmarket pizzeria is housed in a former tea warehouse turned trendy commercial space (the Tea Building) and serves gourmet, individual-size pizzas until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Polo Bar – Polo Bar's been a beacon for hungry ravers, early-shift city workers and everyone in between since 1953, serving a long list of 24-hour breakfast foods, sandwiches and burgers.
Bar Italia – Bar Italia is one of the city's most beloved cafes. Open till 5 a.m. at weekends, the Soho icon lures celebrities, musicians and athletes with its light bites, pizza, paninis and the secret family-blend coffee.
VQ Bloomsbury – VQ Bloomsbury is a sophisticated but relaxed diner providing 24-hour breakfasts, burgers, hot dogs, pastas and other quintessential diner favorites.
VQ Notting Hill – VQ Notting Hill is one of London's newest additions to the city's late-eats lineup, helping to address West London's dearth of post-midnight dining options beyond Soho. Unlike its two other sister branches, the Notting Hill offspring doesn't open 24 hours -- it closes at 3 a.m. at weekends.
