Dallas gathers to mourn 5 slain officers

(CNN)Mourners, law enforcement, two U.S. presidents and Dallas' mayor and police chief are attending a vigil at a symphony hall to honor the five officers killed during what began as a peaceful protest last week.

They're gathering to remember the lives of officers Brent Thompson, 43, Lorne Ahrens, 48, Patrick Zamarripa, 32, Michael Krol, 40, and Michael Smith, 55.
  • Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush are expected to meet with the officers' families following the memorial.
  • The ceremony is not public, but it is being simulcast at a downtown Dallas park and streamed on the White House website.
