Chennai, India – With roughly half of its citizens committed to meat-free diets, it's no surprise that Chennai is one of the planet's most vegan-friendly cities. The Royal Vega in ITC Grand Chola Hotel is one of the country's first fine-dining vegetarian/vegan-friendly restaurants.
Los Angeles – Some say Los Angeles can rival New York City as America's best vegan destination. "Los Angeles has a lot more options, including value options and niche spots like Gracias Madre (pictured), the best vegan Mexican in the world in a trendy/casual space," vegan Bryan Prewitt says.
Berlin – Kopps (pictured here) is where Berlin's vegan crowd indulges in high-end food. With the most exclusively vegan restaurants in Europe, Berlin is the vegan capital of the continent.
New York City – Many of the Big Apple's hottest vegan destinations, including Chalk Point Kitchen (pictured here), have become favorite spots for celebrities and savvy New Yorkers.
Tel Aviv – Vegans will never go hungry in Tel Aviv, with its healthy and animal-cruelty-free Mediterranean diet. The city hosts the world's largest vegan festival, Vegan-Fest Tel Aviv.
Detroit, Michigan – The shiniest rising star in the vegan world goes to Detroit, which has seen an enormous boom in both its economy and vegan scene.
Portland, Oregon – "Portland, Oregon is hands down the best city for vegans in the entire country," says Will Travel For Vegan Food blogger Kristin Lajeunesse.
