(CNN)CNN's partnership exhibit with the Newseum officially opens Monday, kicking off in the middle of a colorful election season that has showcased how social media can change politics.

The exhibit, "CNN Politics Campaign 2016: Like, Share, Elect," is centered around its digital coverage of the 2016 election, featuring several of the social media tools our team uses to bring the latest news and buzz in politics.
Ahead of the opening, CNN worldwide president Jeff Zucker hosted a panel discussion featuring Jake Tapper, host of "The Lead" and "State of the Union," senior political reporter Nia-Malika Henderson, senior digital correspondent Chris Moody and director of social publishing Ashley Codianni.
Following the discussion of GIFs, Snapchat and a continually unpredictable political cycle, the team moved to the top of the Newseum to commemorate the occasion.
