- David Bowie's fans are remembering his legacy in the form of art
- Artwork, tattoos and dogs in costume have flooded social media
Imaginative artworks, tattoos with meaning and dogs sporting Bowie's famous looks are just some of the ways Bowie will be remembered.
"He made me feel like it was OK to think outside the box," said Bowie fan and artist Marina Coffey. He had "a huge impact on me and my life."
It took Coffey roughly 12 hours to draw this fan art using Polychromos colored pencils.
Blake, an artist from Tracy, California, sees Bowie in the colors of the rainbow.
"I am honoring a great artist who was colorful as I saw him," he said. "I could think of no artist that was more colorful and more thought-provoking."
Beyond art on canvas, some fans showed their Bowie loyalty in the permanent form of tattoos.
Tattoo artist Natalia Arancibia of Chile carries a tattoo of Bowie on her leg with pride. "For me Bowie simply open our eyes to another galaxy and made history in music," she said. "Bowie will live forever."
Bowie didn't just touch people -- dogs love him too.
Rafael Mantesso recreated Bowie's "Aladdin Sane
" album cover look on his bull terrier, Jimmy Choo. He says Bowie always inspired him.
