Some of entertainment’s brightest stars paused for a walk down the red carpet on November 17 at the 2015 “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute,” including Neil Patrick Harris, Taylor Schilling, Common, Kelly Ripa, Kathy Griffin, Sharon Stone, Chris Noth and Zachary Quinto.

Hosted in New York by Anderson Cooper and scheduled for broadcast globally at 8 p.m. ET on CNN on Saturday, December 12, the event honored everyday people making extraordinary contributions around the world.

New Jersey native Maggie Doyne was named CNN’s Hero of the Year, chosen by CNN’s audience in an online vote. Doyne will receive $100,000 for the BlinkNow Foundation, which she founded. That’s in addition to the $10,000 each hero receives for making the Top 10.

This year’s Top 10 Heroes include a wide variety of people working in several nations to help others. Some work to help communities. Some reach out to children. Others offer aid to people who are sick or in need of support services. Together, they demonstrate their dedication to the idea that improving the world is about getting involved and taking action.
