Washington (CNN)Actor Ryan Gosling is trying to help Bernie Sanders spread his message as presidential voting nears.

Gosling on Thursday tweeted out a link to a video showing Bernie Sanders speaking to students about racism in America.
"For my birthday... Could you do me a solid and pass this around?" Gosling asked of his nearly 2 million followers.
In the video, Sanders addresses a question from a girl identifying herself as an "American Muslim student," asking the Vermont senator about his thoughts on Republican candidates "bashing Muslims in the media" to appeal to their constituents.
"I will do everything that I can to rid this country of the ugly stain of racism, which has existed for far too many years," Sanders responds.
The Democratic candidate reiterates his desire to bring Americans together, something he has been campaigning on since he declared his candidacy. "Our job is to build a nation in which we all stand together, as one people," he said.
"There is a lot of anger being generated and hatred being generated against Muslims in this country, that's absolutely correct. There is hatred being generated in this country, and if we stand for anything, we've got to stand together and end all forms of racism, and I will lead that effort as president of the United States," Sanders concluded.
Later Thursday, Gosling emphasized that he was not endorsing the Vermont senator.
"I'm not endorsing a political candidate btw. It's more the talking and listening I'm a fan of," Gosling tweeted.
