George W. Bush to appear at New York fundraiser for brother

(CNN)In another move to help out his brother, George W. Bush will headline a fundraiser for Jeb Bush's Republican presidential campaign in New York City.

The event, which Jeb Bush will not be present for, will take place on the eve of the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a campaign official confirmed. The Washington Post first reported the fundraiser.
Until recently, Bush 43 has kept a low profile when it comes to his brother's bid for president. But last week, he sent out a fundraising email on Jeb Bush's behalf and it was later made public that the former president and the brothers' father, former President George H.W. Bush, will attend a donor event in Houston this fall for the campaign.
Bush told reporters in New Hampshire last week that he's happy to have his family's help. "Is that a contradiction?" Bush asked when he was pressed about how he can reconcile his efforts to be his "own man," yet rely on their fundraising power. "I've got my own record, life experience. I'm blessed to have a brother that loves me and wants to help me. Over and out."
George W. Bush is expected to be in Dallas for the 9/11 anniversary the day after the fundraiser. Jeb Bush, who was governor of Florida during 9/11 and handled emergency response efforts to anthrax attacks in his state, has not announced where he'll be on the anniversary.
