(CNN)Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is slamming a New York Times report that Jeb Bush's campaign is responding to the Trump surge with "barely concealed delight."
Donald Trump slams 'false' NYT story
"Bush is pretending that the "Trump surge" is great for him and the @nytimesworld is reporting Bush "delight" - con job, a Bush nightmare!" Trump tweeted Monday morning.
Trump later tweeted that the New York Times fell "into the Bush trap where his people convinced them how happy he was that I was hurting other candidates & not him."
Trump says Bush "fell more than anybody" due to the Trump surge and "is miserable."
The story, published late Sunday, reports that "Mr. Trump's bombastic ways" have "made it all but impossible" for candidates seeking to position themselves as alternatives to Bush to emerge, making it "easier for Mr. Bush, the former Florida governor, to position himself as the serious and thoughtful alternative to a candidate who has upended the early nominating process."
