CNN  —

As North Texas grapples with unusually icy weather, a plane carrying 68 people veered off a taxiway at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

American Airlines Flight 296 from San Antonio to Dallas-Forth Worth was taxiing to a gate Monday night when incident took place, spokeswoman Andrea Huguely said.

All 63 passengers and five crew members who were on board the MD-80 plane are safe, Huguely said.

“We have had icy conditions at the airport, but we can’t determine what happened,” she said. “We will be looking into (whether) that was a contributing factor.”

As of Monday night, more than half of the arriving and departing flights at DFW had been canceled, according to flightaware.com.
