Washington (CNN) -- Looks like hogs aren't the only animals with a grudge against Joni Ernst.

The RV carrying the Republican candidate for Senate in Iowa struck a deer Wednesday who ran in the way of the campaign trail.

Ernst and former Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain of Arizona were both on board when the bus hit the deer. McCain was campaigning with Ernst.

Ernst spokeswoman Gretchen Hamel said no one was hurt in the incident and the campaign bus pushed on to the next stop.

No word on the deer's condition though.

It's not the first time a couple of politicians in Iowa have hit a deer.

Sen. Chuck Grassley hit a deer near his home in 2012 and famously tweeted about it:

"Fred and I hit a deer on hiway 136 south of Dyersville. After I pulled fender rubbing on tire we continued to farm. Assume deer dead."
