It feels like that happened years ago, right? Nope. Sasheer Zamata's debut was January 18. (CNN) -- With the disappointing summer movie season, it seems like 2014 has misplaced its entertainment mojo.

But so many great things have happened within the first six months that the rest of the year has a lot to live up to. "Orange Is the New Black" returned better than ever; Shailene Woodley refused to play by the rules and still won at the box office -- twice; and "Game of Thrones" became our new "Sopranos."

True, every entertainment high point can be matched with a low -- sorry, "Transformers" -- but we think there's been more good than bad.
