(CNN) -- The Israeli military is conducting a search operation for three Israeli teenagers who have been missing since late Thursday night in an area of Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

The teens were last seen late Thursday in the area of Gush Etzion, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

The deployment of military assets to search for teens who have been missing for one day is a reflection of the tensions that exist between Jewish settlers and Palestinians in the West Bank.

CNN's Michael Schwartz contributed to this report.
