A car bomb exploded in eastern Nigeria late Sunday, killing at least 18 people and wounding 19 others as they were leaving a soccer game, authorities said.
One suspect, who was reported to have been identified with the car that was carrying the bomb, has been arrested and is being questioned, the Nigerian Defense Ministry said.
The explosion, which is still being investigated, happened in Mubi in Adamawa state.
It took place as people were leaving after the end of a soccer game, said Ahmad Gude, the chairman of Mubi South Local Government.
"Security personnel have been evacuating those affected to hospital," Gude said.
