7 killed near Iraq pipeline

Three roadside bombs in northern Iraq on Friday killed at least seven police officers while they were guarding an oil pipeline, police in Mosul said.

Two of those killed were described as high-ranking officers, and nine police officers were wounded, police said.

The pipeline was passing through an unstable area laden with al Qaeda-linked groups in southern Mosul, the largest city in Iraq's north.
