A court in Cairo sentenced ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to three years in prison Wednesday for embezzlement.

Mubarak’s two sons, Gamal and Alaa, were sentenced to four years each on the same charge.

All three were convicted of embezzling $18 million that was allocated for renovation of presidential palaces.

The sentences can be appealed.

The Mubaraks have maintained their innocence.
