London (CNN) -- Britain's Prince Philip has undergone a "minor procedure" to his right hand, Buckingham Palace's press office said Wednesday.

The office would not elaborate on the nature of the procedure or what prompted it but said it has not prevented Queen Elizabeth II's husband from undertaking any of his official engagements.

Prince Philip is 92.
