Two teenagers in central Florida were charged Sunday with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder after an attack on the girl's parents.
Authorities say the teens -- a 13-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy -- lured the girl's mother into the family's garage in Ocala, where the boy slit her throat. When the girl's father, who is also the woman's husband, responded to the commotion, the boy put a knife to his throat, a statement from the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.
The father took his wife to a hospital after pleading with the boy to let them go, officials say. She survived surgery and gave investigators details of the attack.
Both teens are being held without bond in Marion County Juvenile Detention, the statement said.
The Sheriff's Office released the names of the teens, but CNN is not identifying them because it wasn't clear if they would be charged as adults.
