American Farrington wins women's halfpipe gold medal

(CNN) -- Kaitlyn Farrington of the United States won the women's snowboard halfpipe gold medal Wednesday.

Farrington pulled out the win with a 91.75 second-run score in the final, edging Torah Bright of Australia, who was awarded 91.5 for her final run.

Kelly Clark of the United States won the bronze with a 90.75.

The gold was the first medal of any color for Farrington, 24.
