- An unspecified number of people suffer minor injures
- Everyone refused medical treatment, an official says
A boat struck a pier at Liberty Island on Tuesday, causing an unspecified number of minor injuries, an official said.
Petty Officer Erik Swanson of the Coast Guard said that everyone was refusing medical treatment.
There were 497 passengers and nine crew members on board at the time of the incident, he said.
The vessel was not taking on water and was not leaking fuel. It will likely be able to leave under its own power, Swanson said.
Liberty Island is home to the Statue of Liberty.
