Three children were among seven people killed when a remote-controlled bomb exploded early Wednesday near a football field in Karachi, Pakistan, police said.

At least 20 others were injured, according to Police Superintendent Tariq Dharejo. At least six kilograms of explosives were used in the bomb, which was planted on a motorcycle, Dharejo said.

The intended target was believed to have been Javed Nagori, a government minister, Dharejo said. Nagori survived the attacked, the police official added.
