(CNN) -- At least 41 people were killed and 100 others injured in three bombings Friday in a tribal area of northwestern Pakistan, officials said.

In the first attack, a roadside bomb hit a vehicle in the Kurram Agency, which is part of Pakistan's restive tribal regions that border Afghanistan, officials said. The vehicle was taking passengers to the city of Parachinar, which is the agency's administrative center, officials said.

Later, two bombings in Parachinar killed at least 39 people and injured 100 others, officials said.

Officials said both blasts happened just before people were to celebrate iftar, the fast-breaking dinner eaten at sunset during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

One of the bombs, apparently attached to a motorcycle, exploded in the city's bazaar, officials said.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
