(CNN) -- (CNN) -- A tropical storm formed in the Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center said.

It is called Tropical Storm Dorian and is located in the far-eastern part of the Atlantic.

The official forecast track shows it approaching the Leeward Islands in the West Indies this weekend, with little change in strength. It's too early to tell whether the storm will hit the continental United States.
