A suspected U.S. drone attack killed at least three militants early Saturday morning in North Waziristan, Siraj Ahmed a top local government officer told CNN.
The drone fired two missiles at a vehicle in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, one of seven semi-autonomous tribal areas in northwest Pakistan Ahmed said.
Officials said the vehicle was being used by local Taliban leaders from the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group.
Two militants also sustained injuries in the attack, which took place when the vehicle was on its way to a village near the border with Afghanistan, Ahmed said.
