Four missiles hit a militant hideout in North Waziristan, Pakistani officials say

They say the area is a volatile tribal region bordering Afghanistan

Islamabad, Pakistan CNN  — 

A suspected U.S. drone strike killed 12 militants Monday evening in Pakistan’s tribal region bordering Afghanistan, two Pakistani intelligence officials told CNN.

Four missiles were fired on a militant hideout in the area of Shawal Daray Nishtar of North Waziristan, one of the seven districts of the tribal region, the officials said.

The officials asked not to be named as they were not supposed to talk to media.
