Freighter blast kills 3 in South Korea

(CNN) -- A freighter carrying oil exploded off the South Korean port city of Incheon, killing three crew members, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported Sunday.

Five crew members were rescued but eight others were missing, Coast Guard officials told Yonhap.

The 4,191-ton vessel was three miles north of Jawol Island in the Yellow Sea when it exploded Sunday morning, the Coast Guard said.

Incheon is in northwest South Korea.
