- Blasts are in northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri
Two bomb blasts erupted late Wednesday in the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, a spokesman for a military task force there said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, said the spokesman, Lt. Col. Hassan Mohammed.
"No military personnel or security agent was targeted," he said in a telephone interview. "The area where the bomb went off is a local community where mainly local people populate, so the target is obviously the local people."
