Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- Two explosions near a liquor store in western Baghdad Friday killed two people, including an Iraqi police officer, Interior Ministry officials said.

Eight people -- including four police officers -- were hurt, they said.

Officials said both explosions were caused by roadside bombs. When police officers arrived to investigate the first explosion, the second bomb detonated.

Insurgents have made frequent use of similar tactics to target Iraqi security forces.
