Pirates hijack cargo ship off Oman's coast

(CNN) -- Pirates hijacked a German-owned cargo shipped off the coast of Oman on Friday morning, according to the European Union's Naval Force Somalia.

The NV Susan K was sailing to Sudan from Mumbai, India, when it was attacked and boarded by 10 pirates just 35 miles from the Omani coastline, it said.

The Antigua and Barbuda-flagged ship has 10 crew members, including four from Ukraine and six from the Philippines, it said.

The naval force, known as EU NAVFOR, is monitoring the situation, it said.
