Tehran, Iran (CNN) -- Iranian authorities detained the son of opposition leader Mehdi Karrubi, the leader's website reported Tuesday.

Ali Karrubi was arrested after security forces raided his home and the Tehran home of Mehdi Karrubi, the leader's website, Sahamnews, said.

The website also reported that security forces took several documents and books from the elder Karrubi's home during the raid Monday night.

The accusation about the raid comes a week after Iranian lawmakers denounced Karrubi and another opposition leader Mir Hossein Moussavi and blamed the opposition leaders for inciting street protests.

On February 15, members of the Iranian parliament issued fiery chants against the opposition leaders and former presidential candidates with some chanting "Moussavi, Karrubi... execute them."

The lawmakers blamed Moussavi and Karrubi for the tens of thousands of demonstrators who marched in Tehran on February 14 before security forces chased them.

CNN's Reza Sayah and Mitra Mobasherat contributed to this report.
