(CNN) -- Police arrested a 16-year-old boy who was planning a suicide attack at a mosque in northeastern Afghanistan, the Interior Ministry said Saturday.
The boy arrested by Afghan National Police on Friday was planning to attack a mosque in Badakhshan province.
In other operations, eight armed insurgents were killed and 21 others arrested during a raid by Afghan security forces.
The raids conducted this week by the Afghan police, army and coalition forces occurred in 10 different locations in the country, the Interior Ministry said
