New Delhi, India (CNN) -- A blaze ripped through a shoe factory in the Indian capital, killing at least 10 workers, authorities said Friday.
The New Delhi factory was operating without a fire safety license, said A.K. Sharma, a city fire services director.
Sharma said the number of casualties could go up.
It was unclear how many people were working when the blaze swept through Wednesday evening.
Fire crews battled the blaze for hours, and are still spraying coolant on burned footwear, he said.
The fire brought down the building partly, Sharma said.
